Milan, 14 May 2018 – ScaleIT, the exclusive event/platform conceived to bring together international investors interested in high-potential companies (with Series A, B and C funding rounds ranging from €3 million to €30 million) and the best scaleups in Italy and south-eastern Europe, will be back in Milan on the 17 and 18 October 2018 for its fourth edition. In the past three events, ScaleIT has already helped to create a business system able to raise in just two and a half years around $115 million, more than a quarter of the total investment raised in Italy during the same period.
Lorenzo Franchini, ScaleIT Founding Partner, commented: “During the previous events, ScaleIT built a relationship of trust with more than 350 investors from Europe, the USA, Asia and Israel. This was possible because we presented them high quality companies, just as we will do with the 2018 shortlist. This quality is also confirmed by the fact that three of those selected in the last edition closed new funding rounds in just few months, such as Artemest and Soundreef, or strategic growth operations, such as HelloHungry.com. By continually scouting and maintaining a constant dialogue with the international operators who are building the worldwide market of innovative enterprises, we carry out our mission day after day: contributing to the development of tomorrow’s businesses, so fundamental for building our country’s future.”
The significance of the event is highlighted by the interest shown by many important partners. Euronext, the leading pan-European exchange in the Eurozone, will be the co-main partner of the event for 2018. Euronext has launched a European Tech SME initiative (in September 2017) to assist Tech companies in developing their business on a greater scale through capital markets. They support the conviction that the quality of the companies selected will constitute the lever for potential growth of the international industrial and financial system. New partners such as McKinsey, Orrick and Ludovici, Piccone & Partners also believe in the project, and companies of the calibre of Amazon Web Services, Salesforce, Silverpeak, Badenoch & Clark, Endeavor and ABC Accelerator have once again confirmed their support and their collaboration. The U.S. Consulate General Milan has also renewed its patronage to the event.
This one-of-a-kind event will allow the scaleups identified to achieve visibility with international venture capitalists and present their development plans during a two-day programme full of pitches, keynote speeches and one-to-one meetings.
ScaleIT is leveraging on this initiative to meet the needs of innovative companies in south-eastern Europe for access to significant resources to support their growth and of international investors to invest in these areas, which offer a wealth of opportunities. Applications will only be open to companies that meet the important performance requirements necessary to attract international investors and access will also be possible through the open call on scaleit.biz/apply, up to 15 June 2018.
This will give international and Italian VC funds the opportunity to assess the innovative companies selected by the Advisory Board headed by Lorenzo Franchini, ScaleIT Founding Partner, and including, among others, journalist and entrepreneur Emil Abirascid and angel investor Pietro De Nardis.
The funds present in previous editions include Amadeus Capital, Ardian, Cisco Investments, DN Capital, Draper Esprit, EarlyBird, Eight Roads, Highland Europe, Holtzbrinck Ventures, Idinvest, Index Ventures, Iris Capital, Nauta Capital, Omnes, Partech Ventures and many others.
