Thirty renowned international VC funds have already registered to attend the fourth edition of ScaleIT, which will take place in Milan between October 17 th and 18 th . They will meet 15 innovative companies from the region.
This year the ecosystem of young Italian and SEE companies began to strongly demonstrate its value and ScaleIT’s networking capability is becoming increasingly crucial for the transformation of great potential into effective business growth.
Milan, September 4, 2018. The ScaleIT team has chosen 15 innovative companies which will have access to the fourth edition of the exclusive event-platform, created to encourage the meeting between the best Italian and SEE scaleups and international investors.
Lorenzo Franchini , founder of ScaleIT, emphasizes: ” This edition expresses the vision ScaleIT promotes since its inception: utilizing successful companies’ concrete potential for attracting international capital. Taking Italy as an example, in the first half of 2018, young innovative companies received investments worth a total of 233 million euro (source: StartupItalia!). Of these, a total of 176 million represents transactions involving at least one foreign investor. Our mission is to contribute to the development of economic future of the countries in which we operate by increasing the number of foreign investors. Having already gathered the support of 30 important VC funds is the sign that we have jointly taken another step in the right direction .”
After analyzing the performance of 1000 scaleups in ScaleIT’s proprietary database and identifying and interviewing the most promising, the Advisory Board, led by Lorenzo Franchini, and composed, among others, by journalist and entrepreneur Emil Abirascid , angel investor Pietro De Nardis, venture capitalist Michele Novelli and investor Niccolò Colussi , have selected the final 15. 11 of them are Italian, 1 Greek, 1 Macedonian, 1 Slovenian and 1 Bulgarian.
The selected companies will be presented in the following sections: ScaleUp (dedicated to scaleups fully complying with ScaleIT selection metrics), Later Stage (dedicated to companies with over € 10 million in turnover); and finally, for the first time this year, the Earlier Stage section, dedicated to companies in a more recent development phase but with clear prospect for growth in the short term, thanks to their innovative business models and daring expansion plans. The latter are all active in the fintech-insurtech sector, known to be among the most dynamic and active.

Fite (US/BG) – The platform for online streaming of combat sports.

InPlayer (UK/MCD) – Video platform for monetization of video and digital assets.
Intale (GR) – A communication and business intelligence platform connecting operators in the retail sector.
Kippy (IT) – GPS locator and service platform for pets.
Visionect (SLO) – A platform with innovative digital displays based on e-paper technology.
Wanderio (IT) – Application for the booking of multimodal transport services.
Xceed (IT/ES) – Management platform for night clubs and ticket purchase for the public.

Bending Spoons (IT) – A software house specialized in design and marketing of mobile applications.
Safety21 (IT) – Technology services company that offers Public Institutions and Police outsourcing services for the improvement of road safety standards.

Oval Money (UK/IT) – Oval is an app that helps users monitor expenses and manage their savings.
Insoore (IT) – A platform that provides insurance companies with photographic inspection of insured vehicles.
InsurEngines (IT) – Leading big-data and machine-learning platform to engine up intelligence and innovation in insurance, specialized in IoT and Instant Insurance.
These are the scaleups which will meet international investors and present their growth plans in the hopes of winning from 3 and up to 30 million euro of funds.
Among the investors, who have already confirmed the attendance of the October event, are major VC funds such as Insight Venture Partners, Accel, Index, Early Bird VC, Holtzbrinck Ventures, Idinvest, Partech, Acton, Aster, Iris and Nauta .
The event , which will be held in Milan on October 17 th and 18th , is unique, and has become, in its fourth edition, an important player in the business ecosystem and in the world of technological innovation.
